Along time ago in a galaxy far far away… a great adventure took place.

A young farmboy(Mark Hamill) and an old Jedi Knight(Sir Alex Genniss) join together to save the princes and fight the good fight. Along the way they enlist the help of a couple of smugglers, Han Solo(Harrison Ford) and Chewbacca(Peter Mayhew), and two droids, R2-D2 and C-3P0(Kenny Baker, Anthony Daniels). They fight to bring stolen plans of the Empires greatest weapon the Death Star, a space station powerful enough to destroy an entire planet, to the Rebel Alliance. They of course do battle with the Empires most evil agent, Darth Vader(David Prowes, voice by James Earl Jones), and succeed in destroying the Death Star and bring peace to the galaxy… for the moment...

Twenty years is a long time for any film. I feel, whether you are referring to the 1977 classic or the current Special Edition, that Star Wars is as fresh and wondrous as ever. I wouldn’t care if it had been re-released without the new enhancements, though they are outstanding, I would be just as eager to see it on the big screen again as ever.

Geroge Lucas has taken his twenty year old masterpiece and given it a little more flavor and realism that he was not able to do in ’77. The new scene with Han Solo and crime lord Jabba the Hutt, which was filmed originally for the ’77 release but was cut because of a quirky Jabba puppet that Lucas was not happy with, I feel will become a classic. Yes! Jabba looks different than when he appeared in Return of the Jedi but I enjoyed the scene with him and Boba Fett. Yes, Boba Fett.

There are a lot more added or enhanced scenes than you have seen on Entertainment Tonight From the added scenes of Mos Eisli to the enhanced scenes of the Death Star battle. They “all” add to an already great movie.

Final words, if you haven’t seen Star Wars before… see it! If you have seen Star Wars one hundred times … see it again! See it for the great story. See it for the enhanced sound track. See it for the new scenes. See it for the magic. You won’t regret it!
